Webinar: Graduate Certificate in 3D Engineering and Additive Manufacturing
The Department of Mechanical Engineering created a 15 standard credit hour (SCH)Graduate Certificate in 3D Engineering and Additive Manufacturing. This certificate will supplement the existing Master's Degree In Mechanical Engineering or any other suitable graduate level degree at UTEP or at another institution, or be a stand-alone certificate for a professional engineer.
Regents Approve $70 Million Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace at UTEP
The University of Texas System Board of Regents today approved $70 million in funding for a major new facility at The University of Texas at El Paso that will house its growing research and teaching program in additive manufacturing. The funding also will improve UTEP’s test facilities for rocket engines and drones currently located in East El Paso County.
UTEP Brings Tech Center to Segundo Barrio
The University of Texas at El Paso is opening a tech center, equipped with some of its most sophisticated 3D printing technology, in an old manufacturing building in the Segundo Barrio. With $2 million in funding from federal grants and private contributions, the university is expanding its W.M. Keck Center at 410 S. Cotton.
3-D Printing is Focus of New Graduate Certificate
UTEP’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is now offering a graduate certificate in 3-D engineering and additive manufacturing. The program, starting in fall 2017, supplements existing graduate degrees or can be a standalone certificate for a professional engineer wishing to expand his or her résumé.
